The Vital Smiles Experience

Oral health is an important part of your child’s overall health and self-esteem. Routine dental visits and exams are ESSENTIAL to maintain good oral hygiene. Children who have their first dental experience and receive regular dental checkups at a young age are more likely to have a favorable attitude toward dental care throughout life. According to the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Academy of General Dentistry, children should have their first dental visit at age 1.

At Vital Smiles we understand that some children may be apprehensive upon their first visit.. Our highly trained staff recognizes that for many children, Vital Smiles is their first dental care experience. With our fun and kid-friendly environment, Vital Smiles is designed to place even the youngest patient at ease during a dental visit.

For you and your child, we do everything possible to make your Vital Smiles experience a positive one. For instance, our waiting areas have seating for parents, a play area for kids, and movies playing on flatscreen TV’s for all to enjoy. You will find our front desk staff friendly and helpful, ensuring your check-in process is smooth and easy.

After your child has been registered and patient information forms have been completed, for a routine visit a Dental Hygienist will introduce herself to you and guide your child to the hygiene treatment area. We provide you with an observation window so you can view your child while in the Hygiene area. For both initial and routine visits, your child then receives x-rays, a thorough cleaning, fluoride treatment, and an examination by a Vital Smiles dentist.

Our dentist then meets with you and your child in a private consultation room. At this time, our dentist reviews the x-rays and findings of the examination with you. If any additional work is deemed necessary, you have the choice of having the work done at that time, or scheduling an appointment for a later date.

Vital Smiles has adopted the guidelines of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry for patient treatment and management techniques. We are committed to providing the highest quality of oral health care to our patients.
